Hello, my name is Hillary Shryock and I wanted to take a few minutes to introduce myself and explain my role as a social worker at Jennings Randolph Elementary this year.  I have 16 years experience working in the mental health field in our community.  I have a background in education, am knowledgeable of many resources in our area and enjoy helping children and families however I can. Sometimes the word social worker comes with a negative thought so please don't look at me as a bad person but as resources to help you and your family.  Some things I may do as a social worker would be:  working with children in the classroom, individually and in small groups on understanding our feelings and what to do when we feel certain ways.  I will also be reaching out to families in the home to see how I can help with any challenges you may facing whether it be coordinating meetings with teachers, schoolwork, discipline, food, clothing, housing needs or referrals to other local agencies. I will be at Jennings Randolph on Monday and Wednesday from 8:00-3:30.  Please feel free to reach out to me anytime I can help.
