Dear Families and Friends of JRES,
 
Welcome back to another exciting year! We would like to thank you for all your past support.  Additionally, we would like to invite you to participate in all of our future activities. Your involvement can be both rewarding and also help support and enrich the experiences of all the students at JRES.
 
Over the summer, PTO has been busy planning activities and projects for the Fall and Spring. We also have been updating the school foyer and playground.  Students of JRES will be able to enjoy a new walk bridge on the playground structure and all new swings.
 
PTO spends great time and effort communicating with families regarding activities and projects that we host.  Here are some of the ways you can insure that you are getting information about PTO:​

2. Watch your child’s backpack for newsletters and advertisements;

3. Contact an officer at any time. We are happy to help!

JRES PTO members are proud to have our children be Patriots attending Jennings Randolph Elementary School.  We take pride in supporting our children and staff of JRES.  We make every attempt to target projects and activities that enhance the experiences of our children across all grade levels.  The remainder of this letter is dedicated to describing the types of projects PTO is hosting, as well as, ways that you can take part in PTO.  Please remember that your support is critical in these activities.  There are so many ways that PTO needs help.  Some parents volunteer at the activities while others help with projects and activities at home.  We invite you to find your level of comfort and take part in a project or two this school year!

After School Celebrations:

• JRES PTO hosts at least one monthly After-School Celebration. These Celebrations are theme based. For a low admission cost, students are able to join in the after school fun.

• Parent’s admission is free if they choose to attend the activity.

• For each After School Celebration, JRES PTO designs hands-on activities, games and art projects for students to enjoy.

• A variety of Concessions are available for prices ranging from .50 cents to $2.00.

• JRES PTO has also hosted Family Fun Nights/Movie Nights.  For a low admission, students receive a movie ticket based on their movie selection.  They also get to choose a snack to enjoy during intermission.  

Classroom Seasonal Parties:

• JRES PTO has traditionally planned, organized, and funded the Fall Harvest, Christmas, and Easter Party.

• We also assist with the cost of the snack for the Valentine’s Day Party.

Birthday Club:

• JRES PTO sends a birthday card to every child who enrolls in the birthday club.​

• Birthday cards are delivered to the classroom unless the child has a summer birthday.

• Children with summer birthdays receive their birthday card in the address provided on the enrollment form.

PTO would like you to know about some of our projects.  Below you will find some amazing projects that PTO has accomplished across the last school year:  

• Staining of the School Playground Equipment;

• Cleaning and organizing the PTO Storage Building:

• Provided a book for every student at Christmas;

• Purchase of the Year Book Cover Design;

• Classroom parties;

• Snacks for various events and parties;

• Pizza and T-shirts for the 5th grade party;

• Field trip support;

• Staff Appreciation;

• Box Top Awards;

• Hosted the School Carnival and Bingo session;

• Purchase of new chairs for every 1st grade student;

• Staining of the Playground equipment;

• Planting of the flower pots with fresh flowers;

• The Christmas Craft Project; and

• Foyer Project.
